Orchid

Arrogant as all Pearlcatchers and rather vain, Orchid spends much of her spare time grooming and prettifying herself, often with the help of Primrose - her mate and a master of design. The two of them might seem too antagonistic to get on, but Primrose is the prefect dragon to occasionally knock Orchid down a peg or two, and in any case, they spend most of their time mutually mocking other people instead. Orchid arrived in the Clan as a hatchling from the Windswept Cliffs' sister Clan Crackling Dunes not long before Primrose took up residence, and they've been together ever since.

Despite her self-centred personality, Orchid can still be persuaded to act altruistically, especially when convinced that no-one else could help as well as she could. Her love of gossip ensures that those she dignifies with her presence are always well-informed on current affairs - which also makes her the ideal reporter. With the help of Relumi, her most valued source (not that she would ever tell him that) and Anaglyph's help as a scribe, she keeps track of the clan's doings as well as informing it on the activities of the wider world.
