Psi has always been a bit boastful, both of their own ability and of their partner, Gamma's ability. Telling anyone who will listen that the pair of them can accomplish any manner of scientific feat, it often ends up falling to Gamma to figure out the details. But he always does it.

When the request to work on the Portal comes down to their subterranean home, no other crew will touch it. After all, the intersection of magic and science is an unpredictable territory, prone to setbacks and unexpected costs. Slowly, every dragon in the room turns towards Psi. And while Gamma is reluctant at first, they do accept the mission.

Psi experiences a moment of doubt when they arrive at the so-called facility, but Gamma never falters. He delegates equipment acquisition to his trusted partner, and confident in his ability as much as their own, Psi finds a way to track down every gizmo and gadget he asks for.
