Those above will bend to my will, one way or another." ╰━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━╯ The Collector is an enigma, though for all the mystery surrounding her one thing is certain: she wants power and control. A deathless creature, some wonder if the Collector was ever truly living and is instead an embodiment of the Shade itself in the form of a dragon, but in truth she is more similar to those of the Crimson Order than the Shade... though she is not above bargaining for some of its dark and corrupting power. For time immemorial the Collector has dwelt in these catacombs, biding her time and waiting for those brave and adventurous enough to capture and add to her ever-growing collection. Rows upon rows of glass tombs hold the dragons that she has slain and raised under her complete control with evil magics best left untouched. Many are not the same as they were when they fell, the Collector taking a sick kind of pleasure from corruption. To that end, she keeps the pure of heart for her own to torment with their corruption until either she tires of their despair, or they fall into resignation. Beyond simply her own desire for power over individuals, the Collector has an end-goal in mind that each addition to her collection feeds. She bides her time, slowly assembling an army of the dead made of those strong enough to fight their way to her lair deep in the Cairnstone Rest. To that end, she spreads rumours above of some great evil to be vanquished in order to lure in those that would become her favourite trophies. The ruined castle that she lives in is now inhabited by the Order, and rather than annihilate an entire clan of dragons the Collector has retreated into the unmapped catacombs. After Feykro was captured in the Order's first scouting expedition to the catacombs, the rest of the Order have declared the area off-limits in the misguided belief that an ancient skeletal wyrm not uncommon in the Cairnstone Rest was disturbed. This suits the Collector just fine, as she can continue her dark work undisturbed... |
