Baksteen [BAHK-stane] comes across like a bit of a dork at first, with his ridiculous puns and chipper demeanor. He's always got a joke to make no matter the situation, and is likely to trip over his own claws. He's constantly a bit disheveled, hastily straightening his tunic or discretely turning his overcoat right-side-out.

However, Bak is also something of a scientist. He's constantly pushing his magic to the limit, always seeking new ways to use his specific subdomain with no regards for the safety or ethicality of his advancements. He firmly believes in betterment no matter the cost, and in fact appears to take joy in his more disturbing escapades. The strangest thing is that his goofy personality isn't a fabrication, or even something he plays up to aid in a ruse of normalcy--that's just how he is, and he's just as much of a dorky klutz in his arcanum as he is out and about.

Bak is completely and utterly smitten with his mate Rhodes, and will gush over them for hours if prompted--or even if not prompted, really. Otherwise, Bak gets along fairly well with Hemelsblauw, and is research colleagues with Houtskool.
