Biography

Blue Sludge Sludge [WIP]

These creatures are formed by alchemists out of puddles of mud or other liquids. Some are formed out of errors, but others are created on purpose to guard a place of interest or to take out a target. The secret of creating sludges was once a tightly kept secret guarded by a network of evil poisonmakers and assasians, who used these creatures to assassinate dragons. But the secret to creating a sludge has slipped out of their claws, and now these creatures have been created for benevolent purposes.

Their scales are like slime, and they have no hard scales for defense at all. But despite this, it is ill-advised to fight a sludge. If you strike a Sludge, you will be dragged into it's body, and die a slow death as the creature digests you.

A skilled alchemist can bind a sludge to an area of liquid with a gem matching the color of the sludge. Once bound, the sludge cannot leave this area without it's creator's permission- or until the gem is destroyed. The binding process is dreadful to sludges, since most varieties are social creatures who like to wander from place to place.

Sludges lie in wait for prey in bogs, and when a dragon wanders into their reach, they emerge from the muck. They capture their target, then absorb and digest their prey through their scales. Once a Sludge grabs a target, it will never let go. The dragon is digested in a matter of minutes, and then the Sludge decends into the bog it is bound to, and lies in wait once more until another dragon wanders within it's reach. Some sludges will eat objects in addition to dragons, and must be fed by their creators in lieu of prey.

Sludges come in a variety of colors and types, from the corrosive metal-eating green sludges, to the sweet-smelling purple sludges who charm small dragons into becoming their meals. Each type of sludge specializes in devouring different types of matter.

Green Sludge Green Sludges are corrosive, vile smelling creatures. They are the most common type of sludge, due to being the most reliable and the easiest to feed. These Sludges are unique because they do not eat living matter: instead, they sustain themselves on metals, and must be fed iron objects to stay healthy. Green Sludges are sociable creatures by nature, and will often take more than one mate, though they tend to have a favorite mate among the mix.
Yellow Sludge

Orange Sludge The original sludges, Orange Sludges were created by a network of assassins and poisonmakers ages ago. They were created solely to murder dragons, and feed on the flesh of living beings, but prefer to eat sentient creatures- with dragons being their favorite prey. They can change their color at will to blend in with their enviroments- a handy skill for these murderous creatures.
