Biography

CINDER
The Phoenix

Clan Role: Healer
Mate: none
Pronouns: he/him
Bio: Cinder's time as a mind-controlled prisoner of the Burning Claws changed him. Where he was once full of ego and sparkle and verve, he was now quiet, sullen, and prone to nightmares. He often wakes screaming--though even this, many don't notice, as the screams are often almost silent. He has days where he struggles to place what's real and what isn't, feeling like he's still a prisoner in his own mind. The spells that kept him controlled for so long took their toll, and his magic is unstable, prone to flaring up in bursts of power he can't quite control.

Cinder doesn't feel like he can really confide in anyone. Liliana is gone. His daughter Eiry tried to help at first, but when it was too difficult she left without even saying goodbye. Cinder doesn't even blame her; he would have done the same thing, once. Might have again, if the positions were reversed. And his son...his son is so much like how he used to be that it makes Cinder ache to be around him. He wants to connect but he wants to get his own head on straight again, first. He also feels terrible not helping the clan, not when he's finally back after being gone so long.

The one good thing about his captivity is that he spent a lot of time around a doctor, and so learned all the ins and outs of healing magic. So, he's taken up that mantle. The one dragon he's found that he can truly confide in is Miriam, though lately Efren has also seemed to take an interest in him, at least enough to ask how he's doing and offer to sit with him on bad days. It's thanks to their support that Cinder feels like he can slowly pick himself up and be reborn out of the ashes of his own life.
