Biography
ARIES SCIENTIST SPOTIFY • YOUTUBE Aries, the middle child of three, was no doubt the most curious of them. She'd spend her free time combining different liquids to see what they'd make (usually nothing), but occasionally it would result in some sort of shiny rock. She gave these rocks to her younger sister Khira, who would make them into necklaces and bracelets. Unfortunately, due to her clan's lack of a proper science lab, she couldn't create more than rocks and sludge. And thus began the journey that would lead her to becoming one of the most well-known scientists in the Lightweaver's domain. It started with a decade long apprenticeship under the world-renowned Baldwin, then to the Forgotten Pantheon, where she made a living creating magical gene scrolls for dragons looking for a touch-up. Finally deciding to take on an apprentice of her own, she set her sights on grander things, like creating living, breathing animals in her cauldron. One of the more controversial creations was a three-headed cat, named Miranda, Anya, and Nella (shortened to MirAnNe, or Miranne). Her creations range from spiders to kelpies to sentient slimes. But her most ambitious project required absolute secrecy. Not out of shame, but out of fear to being chased from her home. It required another dragon. Aries never intended on causing suffering or being a "mad scientist", all of her creations were born from a natural, innocent curiosity. She does her best to prevent pain and unwanted "modifications". This next experiment is no different. Since her apprentice, Silence, did not consent to being used as a part of it, Aries needed to find another male subject. Luckily for her search, it fell out of the sky (literally) on one sunny afternoon not a week later. "Silence, come here! He's still warm! Help me carry him back to base!" Aries shouted excitedly. "On my way!" the apprentice replied as he shot closer to her. "Oh, he's messed up, but he'll be perfect. Get my surgical tools and some empty tubes. Also, I'll need some anaesthetic. I'll tell you the specifics, then put me to sleep for a couple hours. You know what to do, it's just as I taught you." Silence was visibly nervous, but he agreed to do it nonetheless. ~~~~~ It was almost dawn when Aries woke up. Silence was passed out in his cot, and everything she needed was frozen in large ice cubes in the cabinet. "Oh thank Telamine! God bless you, Silence!" Aries exclaimed as quietly as she could as to not wake the sleeping Imperial. Aries hobbled over to her lab with two of the ice cubes and her supplies. She didn't even know if this would work, she could be left permanently infertile because of this experiment. That didn't matter though; all that she could focus on was getting viable eggs that would grow into her own hatchlings. Weeks went by with little success. One egg had been fertilized, but it died a few days later. Supplies were running out, but Aries never gave up hope. Silence brought up the idea of using healing potions on the eggs. "Why haven't I thought of this before? Silence, you're remarkable!" Aries exclaimed. "Uhh... thanks. It probably won't work with a potion of normal strength, so I'll go make a diluted one." Silence offered shyly. "Yes! You go do that!" With renewed motivation, Aries poured all of her love and effort into creating the next batch of eggs. A few drops of the healing potion later, and four of the eggs were fertilized. Incubated by light puffs of fire from Aries and healing drops every few hours, the eggs slowly began to grow to laying size over one month. "Ahh, my babies! Silence, look!" Aries cried. "I should make a nest." |
