"Psst....Maxine. MAXINE!"

The unmarred head pokes the scarred half and screams in her face, finally relaxing when she sees the green faceted eyes slowly blink open. "What's your problem, Ava?" the three-eyed half of the Aberration slurs through ravaged lips. "I was sleepin'."

Ava ducks her head low and smiles innocently. Even as her smile doesn't reach her mad eyes. Pointing to the distance, she giggles, "There's a bird!" Then she twitches her glowing tail and giggles again as the Zalis flies closer to her in an intricate mating dance.

Maxine sighs and grabs Ava's snout to pull her close and growls, "Stop teasing the wildlife!" Then she flicks her own glowing tail at the bird to try to shoo it away from her sister's lure. After all, they had recently eaten so to dine again so soon would just be a waste of meat.

Instead of flying away, the Zalis stares at Maxine for a long moment, then he flies directly at her scarred face. Maxine flinches away with a small squeal, but freezes when the Zalis lands on her horn and happily perches there. "WhatdoIdowhatdoIdoWHATDOIDO..." she whispers in a panicked voice to her sister, but it's just too much for Ava who collapses with laughter at the sight of her sister becoming a roost for a wild animal. An animal that should be dinner, even!

Ever since that day, the Zalis travels happily with Maxine. When he's perched on her horn, it gives him the perfect place to send punishing pecks to the pretty sister, which annoys Ava greatly.

When Ava is annoyed, though, Maxine is entertained and she loves her Zalis with every ounce of what's left of her shriveled heart.
