Haywood is a mystery and a half - appearing one moonless night, the dragon has yet to move on or remove his headdress. Many rumours circulate about him - that he's really on the run because he's slaughtered whole clans in his wake, that his face paint is actually the blood of his enemies, that he can't speak because a fight with another clan leader he tried to mutiny resulted in disfiguring injuries and irreparable vocal chords.

The truth is perhaps a bit less shocking; his old clan ripped apart by famine cast Haywood out as a child and he wandered alone for many years through the plaguelands and beyond. He tried settling in a few clans, but none felt 'right' - many did end up in fights and out castings but never with life threatening injuries. It really came down to dragons being unable to look over his strange demeanor and soft spoken manner, things that Cascade and Glimmer could over look (Cascade more quickly than Nicolae) and make this clan a home for him.

Nowdays he spends the days dosing and the nights skittering around the furthest reaches of the clan's land, scouring for any potential threats. Some dragons say that its because he grows restless; that he thirsts for blood in the same way that all Plague dragons do and its only a matter of time before he brings disease upon them all. Haywood doesn't tend to entertain those dragons.

One thing is for certain though; he's dangerous. Arguably even more so than Cascade because while the other dragon has restraint, Haywood does not. And if the clan ever makes enemies well... They won't be around much longer.
