Madness Incarnate
By all accounts, the Ivory Tower is a place of peace, quiet, and comfort. Each member of the clan endeavors to create both a welcoming stop for weary travelers and a permanent home to be proud of. Pastel wildflowers, the scent of honeysuckle, the soft laughter of friends, the taste of warm food - all of these define the steady rhythm of life at the Ivory Tower. And the clan members all work tirelessly to preserve that rhythm.

All clan members except for Chaos, of course.

Chaos came to the Ivory Tower as a stowaway. Agate, the clan's resident Imperial, had spent a season at a meeting of his species held in the high peaks of the Cloudscape Crags. He did not notice the small creature that had latched onto his hide until he returned to the Ivory Tower at the end of the winter. As soon as he landed, curling his massive body into the courtyard and preparing to meet with his mate, the creature shot out from under his elaborate cloak like a bolt of lightning and immediately began to wreak havoc. No nest was safe from its scrabbling claws. No ankles or wingtips were safe from its needlelike teeth. And no food was safe from its seemingly endless hunger. Even Galaxy, with all her brilliance and power, was helpless to stop the creature's rampage, and declared it 'chaos incarnate' on the spot.

In the end, Cairo, the clan's Coatl Treasurer, was the only one who could put a stop to the madness. She lured it into a spare room with flashy jewelry and trinkets from the treasury, then locked the door behind them. Everyone in the clan feared for her safety until she emerged later that night with the beast sleeping happily on her back. To this day, no dragon in the clan is quite sure how she tamed him, though the speculative tales are often told around bonfires on cool nights. Ever since, Cairo is the only one that is able to control Chaos's wilder impulses, and he has become little more than an occasional nuisance. Many of the clan members have even begun to grow fond of the little Aberration, though that fondness is often tested by his nipping jaws at their wingtips.
