"Those who seek to challenge me will only meet regret."
Yachin has spent his life in a palace, surrounded by all the riches and food he could ever ask for. He cared not for such things despite his Royal lineage, he wanted a domain to reign an eternity for.
His plans and dreams started young while watching the Emperor lead the nation, the Emperor was kind and gentle, which ended up costing the region many losses including land. Yachin despised the old man for not defending his people and territory. From there a childish grudge grew into something more sinister, a plan to dominate the outlands and beyond.
As time went on for the young dragon he grew close to a dragon named Phanes. She was just as intimidating and vicious as Yachin grew to be, he loved that about her and became attached. He was stuck to her like glue, whether she liked it or not. As the two spent more and more time together Yachin became distracted from his plan, that was until the Emperor fell ill and his focus took a new turn, he was of age to take the throne, only issue he had was the fact he was second in line. He'd have to fix that if he wanted to be first. First in line was Evermore, his cousin of sorts. He knew little about her seeing as she usually keeps to herself, but he needed to know more. His first thought was to just talk to her but instead approached the ill Emperor, acting sorrowful and upset. "Sir... Are you going to be okay?" Speaking softly. The Emperor coughed before giving a weak reply. "I'm afraid not Yachin. I don't have much left in me, I have lived for many lifecycles now, it is time for someone else to take my spot and take care of our home." "We need you, Sir. There is no one more worthy of ruling than you!" Yachin may have said that, but in his head he was rather disgusted by the old man's current state. The Emperor chuckled. "No, Son... Our Kingdom needs someone young and ready to lead. Someone who can take charge and lead us to tomorrow... You will take this burden." Yachin was now genuinely confused, his eyes lit up with joy despite the confusion. "Me? But what of Evermore?" "She was never to take the throne, as she relinquished her title to the throne. But she will be a great asset to you, she knows many things that I do not know." The Emperor's growing weakness was showing, he laid back as he took a deep breath. "Please, take care of her for me..." Drawing his last breath the Emperors body fell limp. Yachin was stunned, the guards in the room rushing to the Emperors side to mourn. "Yachin, what should we do?" Spoke one of the guards. "We rise." Yachin said before leaving the room, nearly chuckling. |
