Zie/Zir/Zirself Primary Role Nest Mistrex Saelia and Narthan selected Calla to be their first companion in their new home. Despite zir young age at the time, Calla is esteemed as a member of the clan hierarchy, due to zir hard work helping the Clanmother and Clanfather set up the clan's initial lair. Zie was placed in charge of the earliest hatchlings born to the clan and continues this role as Nest Mistrex to this day: overseeing and maintaining the clan's nests, alleviating the stresses of incubating a clutch for expectant parents, and caring for the clan's newest members. Zir Akirbeak familiar is well matched as both are passionate about egg care; the Akirbeak is especially helpful for incubating any unhatched eggs found by Etude's scavenging teams or Careen's coliseum parties. As a dragon with Arcane heritage, Calla is also exceptionally clever and inventive; zie invents accommodations for dragon couples with an extreme size difference or for dragons who want to be parents but don't want to actually mate with the other parent of their hatchlings, such as sex-repulsed dragons or same-sex couples who receive aid from an opposite-sex friend with whom they'd prefer not to be intimate. Zie has even developed methods for transgender parents to create nests! Calla has never felt the urge to mate, nor has zie felt keen on pairing romantically with any of zir clanmembers. Zie and zir dear friend, Themara, are a platonic couple; their relationship is neither sexual nor romantic, but they are a bonded pair and intensely devoted to each other. The offspring of Calla's sole nest to date, which was produced with Clanfather Narthan shortly after zie was mature enough to breed, were exalted to serve the Tidelord, in gratitude for the home he provided for zir in the Water Flight. Zie has no further plans toward producing zir own offspring, though zie finds fulfillment in helping the other clanmembers carry out their own. |
