A lost hatchling stumbling through the forest came upon the river Styx moments before fainting from exhaustion, starvation, and what seemed to be a nasty ailment caused by the Wyrmwound. Half dead when found by Gild, she was slowly nursed back to health, her weak and fragile body seemingly determined to beat the odds. Ever since then, she has taken it upon herself to research and find a cure for all known disease, so no one else will have to suffer the way she did.
Ombre is one of the more serious dragons around. Her extreme passion for finding a cure led her to steer strictly towards scientific and nonfiction interests as an adult. In fact, her muted colors are explained by a lab accident. While trying to invent an acid-based antibody her basin exploded, showering her with glass and chemicals. When she woke up, her beautiful scales were scarred black and her colors were muted. Since then she has devoted her time to overseeing all scientific endeavors to make sure safety is enforced and to prevent other dragons from making the same mistakes she did.
Although she is quiet, Ombre is more than capable of scolding an erring youngster if necessary. She does not tolerate idiocy, and despises the idea of wasting anything, especially talent. In her free time Ombre enjoys tutoring hatchlings and studying various species of familiar.
