Biography

Reine
The Relaxed God

If you've ever visited the Star District, you've probably heard of Reine, the god that handles affairs within. Conducting business and immigrating to the district has been very easy for decades; but it wasn't always this way. Why? Well, it all starts with him.

Reine, in his younger years, was very uptight and formal. He felt he needed to do everything he thought a god should: monitor every one of his people at all times, judge crime-doers in court every day, strike down those who should criticize him... all of those are just three of the things he did.

What made him change, though? That, friend, is what I wonder too... if I wasn't the one who spurred it, of course.
While he was in his lovely ivory tower, looking down upon his people one night, a lovely red-and-yellow changeling perched on his windowsill. Recognizing the sleek, foxy face, he greeted her.

"Why are you here?" Reine grumpily asked.

"Just checking up on you. Wouldn't want you to uh... catch a cold, after all." Flyer responded, barely disguising the lie. She was sure he knew.

"If you're here about the strict law on Rule 3, Section 4, then no, I will not be changing it," Reine rolled his eyes, turned off his blinding desk light, and prepped his bed. Flyer flung herself in front of him, barring his path.

"Not entirely. I just... hm... haven't you gotten tired of looking at documents and staring into people's minds? Like... at all? Anything?" Flyer queried, hoping for a reaction. Anything would be good at this point.

"No." Reine deadpanned, pushing her aside. Flyer stood there quietly, staring at him while he shuffled into bed. Maybe other forms of convincing would work. That's it! I know what I have to do.

And with that, Flyer had a plan. A great, big... (well, not so much big, just great) plan.
When Reine went to 'work' the next morning, something felt wrong. There were slightly less people coming to his office to say things like "Why won't you approve my application?" and "Mister Reine? Your client's here."

Wait a minute. That last one is real. "Alright, let them in." And then the worst type of person in the entire world entered.

"Oh no... not this. Not again." he whispered under his breath, as the snob-nosed thing that calls itself a businessman enters.

"Greetings, Mister Reine. My name is Mister Wrak, or just Wrak. I'm here to discuss some... opportunities." A clawed hand raised to shake his.

Reine looked at the man's hand for a moment, clearing all preconceived notions from his mind. 'You're a god, Reine. A god. You need to be focused.' He hesitated, then shook the Nocturne's hand.

"Greetings, Wrak... what opportunities do you have for me today?"
Flyer rushed to meet Reine when his office doors opened and all those inside stepped out; first the businessman, frazzled by meeting a god but otherwise fine, Reine's sponsors and associates, and finally, Reine himself. He frowned at the sight of her, but quickly calmed himself down. She is a god friend, after all. Can't be making enemies with the other districts.

"Soo... how'd your meeting go?" Flyer asked as soon as he'd barely walked four steps out into the main building.

"Do changelings ever take a break?" Reine asked, more out of tiredness than anything. That meeting really changed his opinions on this whole thing.

"A break... hm. Can't say I don'ttake any. What was that question for?" The annoying changeling retorted, breaking him out of his trance.

"Because this time... i'll take your advice. You won me over. Congrats." The mighty god lowered his head in more exhaustion than shame, making plans for new regulations and staff in his head immediately.
"Well that wasn't too hard, was it, Reine?" Flyer asked smartly, looking over at her companion, finally relaxing in his tower after adjusting his entire workflow.

Reine thought for a moment, relishing in his freedom, before finally responding:

"No, I suppose not. Thank you, Flyer."
