Leaving Carrion Canyon was totally Link's idea. An explorer at heart, he had a craving for a change of scenery, and asked several of his closest friends to come with him. They left their old clan, and made their way to the Tangled Woods, where Link had mapped out the territory of a clan that looked like a perfect fit for himself and his companions. They were all welcomed with open arms, and each was given a role in the clan that fitted their natural talents and inclinations.

For his part, Link had always been a successful Cartographer. His maps are incredibly vibrant and well-made, pure Coatl craftsmanship with the attention to detail one would expect from a Light dragon. These maps were a welcome addition to Xantha's library. In addition, his role as a Cartographer allows him to get out of clan territory and explore to his heart's content, finding new landmarks and resources to add to his maps. His favorite thing to do is to accompany Scouting expeditions alongside Nightrun's team, as they travel far and wide.

Of course, this has led to some problems. Nightrun is incredibly ruthless, and has often pressured Link to leave key elements out of his maps, for the good of the clan. This includes Beastclan settlements that could interfere with gathering, out of concern that the clan might not want to steal much-needed resources from the Beastclans. There is also the near-constant issue of Dellin, who claims to be a Scout, but is most assuredly not. These moral dilemmas often leave Link feeling rather disheartened, and he often feels inadequate due to the fact that he can't seem to summon the courage to speak out against these actions of his more experienced clanmates. Someday, he is determined to tell everything to the clan at large. However, more than anything, he fears what Orkeck might say or do. Orkeck approves of Nightrun's and Dellin's actions, and he is far too powerful of a dragon to want to make an enemy of, especially as he is the Patriarch of the clan who was kind enough to take in five complete strangers with barely any questions asked. Until the day comes when he feels willing and ready to take the risk, Link continues to make his maps, and try his best to be happy in his new home.
