she's positively covered in blood. rivulets run down her back, dripping down the scales on her arms. there's a dark, wild look in her eyes, and when she smiles her sharp fangs are stained red and make her look even more terrifying.
when she speaks, though, her voice is perfectly cheerful. "sister! to what do i owe the pleasure?" there is a valiant attempt to wipe the blood from her face, but all she succeeds in doing is smearing it.
tsarina squints at her, mild exasperation showing through the neutrality she usually wears. "does palemoon know you go out at night to kill things at random?" she asks incredulously, her tail flicking.
"oh, he'll find out eventually!" imenai replies, grinning. then she pauses, rolls her eyes, and continues, "and besides, it's not at random." she turns back to the unrecognisable carcass and frowns, sifting through the guts until she finds what she's looking for. "aha!"
tsarina grimaces at the unidentifiable lump her sister pulls out of the gore. "...and what is that, exactly?"
"oh, nothing you need to worry about just yet."
tsarina tsks, but drops it. they're sisters, after all: cut from the very same cloth. imenai's claws are sharper than tsarina's, and tsarina's wit is sharper than imenai's, but the masks they wear are the same. no amount of interrogation or coercion on tsarina's part would get imenai to spill her secrets.
imenai places the bloody object into a pouch attached to her leg, shakes the blood off herself (forcing tsarina to jump back hastily lest she get splattered by the dark liquid), and yawns. "so, what exactly did you follow me out here in the middle of the night for?"
straight to the point. there's no fooling imenai, unfortunately. good that there's another topic tsarina needs to talk to her sister about, or there'd be trouble.
as it is, the blueish-grey fae leans in, eyes narrowing. "it's about snowfly."
