Biography

ARCANOTE
We are a team of four led by Professor Arcanote and her assistant, Canopus. Usually in cases like this a larger, more qualified team would be dispatched; but for some reason I am uncertain of, Professor Arcanote thought it best to bring two students from Alteration 4A.

Althea, my peer, told me that it's "probably because we're her star students, the best of the best in Alteration [4A]. She's testing our skills in the real world," Although this was, of course, tacked on to her telling me how she'll prove herself the better mage out of the two of us. What bothers me about this explanation is that the professor never told us that herself, why wouldn't she? All she said was that it was cleared with the school board and not to worry.

I suppose the work we've been doing does seem innocuous. We are studying a magical disturbance and attempting to discern its origin. A section of the Southern Icefield's mountain range has been overtaken by Arcane magic. Mind you, we do share a border, Arcane and Ice, so some overlap in magical properties is expected. This is not that. A pink mass, much larger than the college, appeared on the side of the mountain. It overlooks the facility we've been living and working in since we arrived.
