Biography

Irida is a bit standoffish, and she often baffles people around her because for such a demure lady, she can sure as hell endure a lot. She was named after her primary gene because she didn't just have a pearl, she was a pearl in her family's eyes. The Pearlcatcher grew up taking after her mother in species but was more similar to her father appearance wise. They had many, many children, and quite frankly, it is expected of her as well. A natural leader, she was never really against accepting aid, but she liked being dependable and reliable to others, as she found a sense of purpose in her ability to guide the people. In her youth, Irida started out quite unsure of herself, sheltered from the rest of the world and completely unaware of just how curiously odd her own family was. Though her parents and siblings loved her and each other just as much as she loved them, unfortunately she was unable to see them often due to work frequently getting in the way. Warm and affectionate to her family but a bit distrusting of those outside of it, eventually her two bodyguards defrosted her heart, and soon enough she found love in her own rival and former enemy Adaman. They made for a dashing couple and had an insane amount of chemistry with each other, but that just isn't necessarily enough. They got into a significant amount of public rows and didn't agree on most things, save for an amiable split after hatching two clutches of eggs together. Although they are casually seeing other dragons now, in truth, the two still have a relationship, now a friendship, that cannot be replicated by anybody else. Being subject to a lot of gossip and smear tactics as one of her adoptive clan's best healers, Irida had to develop a tougher skin and become truly proud of herself and her accomplishments. And she, out of all dragons, knows better than most that sometimes a small but truly closely knit group of kin is all you really need.
