Lumen is most definitely an oddball among the Council. Not only is he not an imperial, he possesses pacifist views, and an unwillingness to participate in any direct combat. Most of the other members do not have a problem with this, as his affinity lies in healing magic - and it is exactly what he uses to strengthen his allies from afar. However, this means he holds the power to life, and indirectly death as well; and he doesn't seem to take this responsibility seriously. Dian has been curious about this, but when he asked Lumen, all the imperial said in response was that it was not for the sake of the battle, but rather for the sake of Dian.

So as such, many have viewed Lumen as a selfless person, uncaring about the world but deeply passionate to his allies. While that statement is primarily true, Lumen has one major flaw as a result: He wants someone to cherish and hold dear, but has not yet found the individual who he wishes to devote himself to. Fiamma has caught his eye for a short while, but he realized that it was nothing more than temporary infatuation.

Now, he serves faithfully on the council. Unlike some members, he does seem to have a liking to Fafnir. Yet, this seems to be more of a respectful relationship more than anything else, as Irideae seems to be wary of him. Fafnir himself seems aware of this and is careful to keep his relationship with Lumen well, as losing the healer would be a devastating blow to the clan's most powerful squadron of defenders.

Alongside this, Lumen also seems to suffer from bouts were his personality takes a complete 180, going from caring to cruel in mere seconds. His mercy becomes unforgiving, and his magic turns dangerously blinding from a mending glow. This occurrence is rare, but many fear it may happen on the battlefield, but an eclipse has never arrived to herald doom in place of mercy.
