At the age of seventeen, Tie Jinyu had been the third child of a third child of a cultivation family, and was thus somewhat left to her own devices. Though there were some good cultivation sects presented to her as a member of a decently influential family, Tie Jinyu had chosen to enter Xingkong Sect. Her cousins had mocked her for that, the brainless fools they were. Always hunting for glory in the highest sects, not knowing that the higher you climbed, the higher you fell. Especially when it came to larger sects. But Tie Jinyu saw raw gold in Xingkong Sect. It seemed like nothing special, true. But Tie Jinyu was not the daughter of a former infamous informant for nothing. Like how her Eldest Sister chose to marry the fourth son to a duke with the unknowingly highest chances to become the next duke, and like how her Second Sister chose to follow in their mother’s footsteps, Tie Jinyu spotted opportunity and she took it. She was accepted as a disciple soon enough, and steadily increased her cultivation levels. Not to Xingkong Yue, but to Xingkong Ri. Which worked perfectly in her favour. Unlike her martial siblings, she wasn’t as interested as being a kind and approachable elder martial sister. She did take a few of her younger martial siblings under her wing, though, just to check their potential. The more connections the better, and it would help in the future. Someone like her should naturally aim for the top, but Tie Jinyu disagreed. _________________________ |

She didn’t want to become the next sect leader, nor the next head disciple. Her aspirations laid not in the direction of the sun, but rather in the direction of the moon. And to fulfil those aspirations, she first needed to shine like a star. When her light became blinding, she would move the rest of the chess pieces, and slowly knit together a perfectly warm cloth, one that would protect the family she called ‘hers’, and one that would place her firmly in a position of good power. For now, though, just like the sect she called a second home, just like her family — she would remain hidden. Then, when Xingkong Sect was ready… she would slowly unravel her plans. As for now? She’d try… something new. Mother had always said having good friends would be the best option, and Tie Jinyu could name a few names that she’d love to know more about… ____________________________________ |
