With Freezing Cold and Fractals Behold...

ice.png Jar of Vapors Icewarden Ice Sculpture Cumulus Mane icef2.png

||================================================================||

You closed your eyes that night, curled up in your den expecting yourself to drift into a deep sleep,
though something much more peculiar happened...

...When you re-opened your eyes, you weren't where you remembered; a place lined from ground to sky with detailed, fractal like patterns, and a place with cold breezes that make you shiver from the tip of your nose to the tip of your tail. Shocked and confused, you stand, observing your surroundings, and quickly finding that pointless due to the thick fog that blankets your view. But regardless, you move forward, hoping to find something or perhaps someone besides the chilly, grey atmosphere. This scenario was unsettling; how would you get back? What else is in here? Is there anything else in here? The cold didn't answer these questions, and neither did the earie silence. As you grew uneasy, so did the uneasy feeling that you were being watched, and it was so uneasy that your walking pace shifted into a trot, to a jog, and finally, into a full on sprint. Something was chasing you, you were certain, so certain you dare look over your shoulder, only to immediately run directly into a solid surface.
It startled you, but it also startled the dragon you hit.
"Woah," He uttered, backing away just like you, "Are... you okay?"
This stranger was a bogsneak, with thin stripes running down his side, adorning a raspberry colored shawl, as well as a vaguely surprised expression on his face.
You try to respond, opening your mouth, put no sound comes out, shocking you just as much as arriving here.
"I'll take that as a no," he sighed, "don't worry, we can go back to my place, I don't like being out in the open anyways."
And that's what you two did; take off into the air and towards a specific direction. Navigating through the fog like this was quite literally impossible, but the stranger seemed to know what he was doing, and you suppose he's definitely much more trustworthy than the hidden pair of eyes that constantly dig into your back. The couple of minutes that it took you to reach this certain location felt like hours of uncomfortable silence, but this all eased once you landed in front of a hollowed out cave that has a pleasant lack of dense haze.
"You're welcome to stay... but you don't have to... Just do whatever you want in a place like this... Only the dragons in Glimmering would care, and I don't care for them at all," the grunt sounds harsh on paper, but his tone was still welcoming, so you obey...

...And then you open your eyes: your head laying on a soft pillow, your body laying in a soft nest, and your mind laying motionless as you stir awake, slowly letting the memories of that dream fade. Unless it wasn't a dream? Perhaps it was real? Maybe this is why you still feel like you're being watched...

||================================================================||

"This place is, without a doubt, a maze with invisible walls.
"You know you need to get out, but the question remains... how? There's no directions, no clues or hints as what you need to do or where you need to go. Dragons who end up here are stuck forever, and they shouldn't hope for anything else.
"How they get here isn't explained in one way, since it varies between dragons. Some wake up, believing it to be some vivid dream. Others consciously enter, oblivious to what it is, and quickly finding there's no turning back. There has been some talk about a necklace, which may or may not be another way enter, but it's relevance surely means something.
"Some might describe this place as unpredictable, which is true, however the inhabitants are the ones to blame, not the place itself. Every dragon thinks differently, and only readable by a skydancer... and maybe even they would struggle. A group that refers to their group as Glimmering are often very snobby and egotistical. They believe being in this maze is the greatest honor a dragon could have, and were sent here for their greatness. The majority of them may agree on one common thing, but you can never anticipate their next move.
"Glimmering is not alone, however. There are others that do not associate with this group, and are often referred to as out of Glimmering. They are notorious for disagreeing with the marvelous group that is Glimmering, but they are anything but hostile (if any dragons are hostile, it would be Glimmering). These "outsiders" are just trying to get by, and quickly adapt to the new environment they've been plopped down into, and more often than not, friendly. They're not a single large clan, but rather, many smaller groups that are made up of family and/or friends. These groups will quarrel, sometimes work together towards a common goal, but still always split.
"This place is a beauty, really, regardless of its unpredictability. I often find myself staring into its vast atmosphere while entirely thoughtless, my brain's feeble attempt at comprehending the infinite swirls and patterns. I've never been the distracted type, but I'm sure everyone here is now after being exposed to such mesmerizing shapes. Dragons say they want to get out of this maze as soon as they figure out how, but the more I hear it, the less I believe it."
