Hello, I am Azurefrost. I don't have much of a story, but I shall tell what I remember of it. I suffer from a case of Amnesia, you see. I have a hunch that it was from a traumatizing event if the scars on my stomach are any indication. I have long since covered them, and am learning to cope with the fact that I may not know as much as other dragons. My earliest memory was waking up in the Shrieking Wilds as a near-mature adolescent. This makes no sense at all given that my species are native to the cold lands. Nonetheless, I continued to wander, my mind overwhelmed with new information. Unfortunately for me, it had been in the dead of night that I had woken. Before I knew it, I was surrounded by nocturnal creatures that saw me as a weakling, and easy target. I was outnumbered, so I did the only thing I could do. I took to the sky. Some of the hostile creatures had wings, so I wasn't safe yet. Quicky, I hurried toward the large tree, but before I could land on it's branches to rest, I was hit. I plummeted to the ground and got hurt rather bad actually. Next time I opened my eyes, I saw her. Gladekeeper, my soon to be patron deity, emerged from the roots of the tree and scared off those that were chasing me. I explained everything to her afterward and she told me I could be a part of her flight. I really had nowhere else to go, so I agreed and since then I have been a denizen of the Viridian Labyrinth. When it came time to build my nest, a couple of years after I had settled in and learned more about the world, I managed to attract a mate. Her name was Stonecoil and she was a slate colored Mirror dragon. She was nice enough when we first met. We exchanged a few words of conversation and I took her as my mate. Sadly, she was not always that way. She was more prone to throwing fits and having aggressive moments than actually caring for anyone, but by the time I realized this, she had already lain eggs. I worry for our offspring. Fortunately, years went by and many of my offspring grew up and moved out to find their own home. A beautiful Tundra by the name of Nerida came into my life and tried to make friends with Stonecoil. All her attempts failed. Through several years I built up a clan of misfits, people that had nowhere else to go. Finally, we decided that Stonecoil was not welcome. She believed herself matriarch of the clan of diversity, but I knew that she'd rule with her claws if she were ever the leader. Viridian was the one that started the movement, having grown tired of Stonecoil's behavior, soon I joined in and banished her from the clan. Many people celebrated that night but I was stuck wondering if it was the right thing to do. Nerida stayed with me through the night and when morning came, I appointed her the matriarch of the clan. It deserves to go to nobody else but a kind and gentle soul like her. |
