7837633_350.png His is an Irish name, derived from the Gaelic elements muir, meaning "sea"; and cadh, meaning "battle"... A fate cemented in history since the day he was named...

An immeasurable amount of time has to pass by for a single being to become myth, let alone legend. A tragedy, more often than not, is the easiest event to turn into such a tale, and unfortunately also one of the most commonly heard of events that gets passed on from generation to generation. No talks of the happy moments of the protagonist's life, only the sorrows that made them stick in people's memories like hardening cement; it may chip away over time, change here and there, but the bulk and main body remains.

He... Does not remember his life anymore. Only the stories about him that people now tell around the hearth of a tavern on cold, rainy nights. The tale of Murchadh, the Drowned. Murchadh, the One Who Washed Ashore... The one who vanished for years under the waves alongside his vessel and his men. The one who did not survive... But somehow, returned. Murchadh listens to these tales about him, silent, observant, cold. His eyes no longer visible underneath the helm he cannot remove, his scales glistening with coral, barnacles and hardened plant growth; his old, tattered warrior's garb, now in rusted shambles, forever soaked through with salt and torment.

They tell a tale of a warrior lost at sea, how he never came back home and neither did any of his comrades. His ship vanished, as did all trace of his existence. And yet, there he stands; unmoving, looming, distant. He wants to remember, but he can't. A curse, he wonders. Perhaps he's been cursed... Cursed to live while dead, to wander the shores of ocean and swamp alike, to feel the pressure of the deep call him back the further he strays from water... But he doesn't know. He doesn't remember. So he listens.
