Biography
Caden wasn't born in the right elemental grounds.
He was a fire dragon, of course, but somehow his egg had made it over the border into the Shifting Expanse, home of the Stormcatcher. His first few days were full of confusion and questions directed at lighting dragon after lightning dragon and seeking help to find his way into fire territory.
When he did finally manage to make it over the border, the first thing he noticed was the sudden surge in his powers. He had vaguely known he had magic, of course; it was lying in his brain somewhere, dormant. But the fiery surroundings managed to reboot it, almost. He wasted an entire day on casting the two spells he could reliably do, then moved on, flying in search of a family.
When he found the lone dragon nestled in between two volcanoes, he knew he had found it. For one thing, she was nice, if distant. For another, this meant he was one of the first there. And being the first there meant he had seniority, and having seniority meant he could influence the clan. He didn't want to be a passive clan member like some of the lightning dragons he'd met.
He watched as dragons began to join them. He didn't really have a connection to any of them; they were all drawn in by Adene, and he and Adene had discovered they didn't fit together very well. Still, he stayed. It was a home, and he was fairly well-off within it.
He actively protested the clan's move to Starfall Isles. He remembered living in lightning element territory; he didn't want that to happen again. But it turned out that living in the land of the Arcanist didn't do anything for or against him; he missed the volcanoes and lava, but he felt no effect on his powers.
He's the leader of the clan's insect catchers, and he's proud of having found, over the course of his lifetime, more insects than anyone else in the clan. If he's not within the lair, badgering Adene to do something or other, he's off catching insects.
