Free as the wind Role: Clan Founder, Super Dad, Chief of "No Questions Asked" Skander is the clan's original founder. He has complete memory loss from his hatchling days and doesn't remember anything from the early days of his life. Skander has no idea how he got to Sornieth's Zephyr Steppes, but his memory loss has never seemed like much of a loss to him. He has his family, his home, and he is content with the present. The first day he remembers is the day he stumbled upon his current mate, Vetzula, a fiery, wind-blooded Mirror. She says that she doesn't recall any of her childhood either, but Skander isn't quite sure that he believes her. Regardless, he doesn't press, even though they have grown so close that she would probably share if he were to ask. Her secrets are hers to keep, and if they needed to be dredged up, she would do it herself. The two started out as friends and co-founders, agreeing to take in any wayward dragons that they were to come across in their travels and eventually form the clan that exists today. As the clan became bigger and more well-established, Skander and Vettie realized that it would be a good idea to pack their bags, rally the troops, and moved to the Reedcleft Assent. Unfortunately, Skander had always been at a bit of a disadvantage due to his undersized wings and was only able to fly distances as a Snapper would because of his Wind nature, with the aid of conjured wind currents. He had never thought of this as much of a disadvantage, but it became clear that this may be an issue the further into the Windsinger's territory they ventured. Anahel, his very good friends who had taken on all medical tasks, worked closely with their armor and engineering specialist, Phoebe, and the two surprised him with a set of prosthetic wings. They were camouflaged with hundreds of feathers that had been hand-picked on scouting trips to match his existing wings, and provided just enough assistance to give him that added lift and reach all new heights, literally. It was shortly after this point and the move to Zephyr Steppes that Skander had to put his foot down and insist that they get organized, officially. He was a Wind dragon at heart, but there was too much chaos going on in the clan and they needed to buckle down before everything fell apart. With Vettie's support, he went through and everyone was given a job to do, which was much better received than he had anticipated, much to his relief. To this day, the founder keeps his "don't tell, don't ask" attitude with all who enter the clan, and is always more than willing to personally settle in any new additions. |
