Warmth. Sunlight brushed against my skin gently. Loving, calming. It was a summer day, not in the heat of the season thankfully. Friends and I had gone out to blow out in the wind, taking in the scene and listen to the scenery. Every year we gathered at the same place, here to stand where the gods could not find us.
We are free here.

Wind. It tore through the sky, howling around us. Our fins, manes and frills moved along with the crashing breeze. The smiles on our faces grew when we looked at each other, smiling at the way the sky styled us. My fins felt comfortable, the feeling of the wind was as if a friend was holding me. Kindness, yet rough and playful.
We are happy here.

Water. The cold shudders that crept up my spine were caused by the lurking waves that rippled against my talons. Our bodies moved along with the waves, standing at the shore as we stepped in to the streams. The horizon was beautiful, painted in oranges and blues. Like I’ve seen it all before, somewhere else. I could recall the name of a famous painter, someone who made a scene so very similar to the one that played out right in front of us.
We are relaxed here.

Seagulls. They cut through the harsh winds like spears through the water. Gracefully, they flew around. They were free like us, allowed to go wherever they wanted to go. Free to do whatever they wanted to do. They were having fun while they called to each other. Their sounds were enjoyable, silly and fun to listen to. Despite their games, they protected this beach. It was safe from monsters, safe from disturbers of the peace.
We are safe here.

Seashells. Their beauty cannot be compared to anything. Legends say that if you hold one up to your ears, you could hear the sea. My friends told me, the smiles on their faces genuine when they handed me a shell. It was gorgeous, sharp prongs hanging at the edges of the husk. Its insides were a pristine shade of blue, the same blue that I saw in the sky. Holding it, I felt calm.

I held it up to my ears, preparing myself for the sound of the sea. The ocean that I was staring at, the waves crashing into one another. Everything felt right, I was ready to hear the sea through this instead of my own ears. So I listened for the waves, for the howling of the wind, for the calls of seagulls.
I waited.
I waited more.
I waited a little more.

But it never came.

Fear. I listened for the waves, but they were no longer. The sea was flat, lifeless and empty. The waves had dissapeared, vanished into the horizon. It was dark, not a single beam of light descended from the sky. No sun touched the ripples of the water, as there were none of that either. It was perfectly still, all over.
Where are the waves?
Why was it dark?
Where is the sun?

Silence. I listened for the wind, but its prideful howling had stopped. My fins felt cold and barren when the air stopped hugging me. I felt nothing. Not even the sand that touched my talons, not even the water that brushed my limbs. The wind was gone. I expected to stand steadier without the wind pushing me around, but a fear overtook me.
Where is the wind?
Where is the feeling?
What is this pounding silence?

Dread. I listened for the seagulls, how their games entertained me in the past. Though, the sky was empty. The silence in my ears started to ache, it burned. The sound was louder than anything, buzzing and angry. What have I done wrong? Did I make a mistake? I had no friends to ask. Along with the birds of the sky, the protectors of the sea, my friends had vanished. I felt cold. Alone.
Where are the seagulls?
Where are my friends?
Why is it so loud?

Hopelessness. I listened for sounds through the seashell. Slowly, my talons pulled it away from my ears. It was of no hope. Nothing could be done. The shell faced me, mockingly. The pristine blue felt terrorizing, angering instead of the peaceful calmness it used to provide me. My talons grasped the shell, hurling it into the water. I hoped for it to make a sound, to make the water move, anything.
Why was it silent?
Where are—
What was that?

Everything came crashing down from the sky. Black spots fell down like midnight stars of the sky. This was an omen, things were coming down like rain, all at once. This was not a good sign, none of this was ever a good sign. The water finally splashed up, moving. Yet it was silent, soundless. The splashes made no ripples, the water returned back to still after everything fell.

Something had landed in front of my talons.
I look down, my head moving ever so slowly. My eyes felt glued to my eyelids, barely moving down to see what was at my talons. The shape was familiar, something I had seen many times before. Feathers. I imagined the sound they made in my head, but it was silent. Not even my thoughts made a sound. The seagull that lay at my claws was still, eyes wide of terror.

Dead.
It was dead.

But not even the sight of death could snap me from this hell. There was no smell, no scent of the dead bird that lay there in the water. The smell of death was peculiar, something so specific. Yet it just wasn't there. It was still, empty, scentless. Lifeless eyes stared right through me, the sight was haunting the back of my mind. I wanted to look away from it. I no longer wanted this in my sight.
The water moved it away from me.

I breathed a sigh from relief. The water saved me from this situation. The water was kind.
Why is the water leaving?

I looked up.
That is when I saw it.
The wall.

A dark shadow loomed over me. It was darker than the night itself. Rushing water, it approached me steadily. The wall was coming. It was going to crush me. The water. It was strong, mighty. Stronger than anything I had ever seen before, stronger than anyone I had ever met before.
The wall came down on me.

I opened my jaws to scream out in fear. All I got instead was an aching feeling in my throat, water crashing down against my scales and through my teeth. It shocks through my body, pushing me over as if I was nothing. My claws tried to grasp on to the floor below me, but the sand broke as soon as I tried. My attempts to stay afloat were futile, the wave was too strong. I rolled, breaking through the land I came from, carried by the wave.

Though, everything was still silent. The wave made no sound, not a peep.
There was nothing here.

Nothing besides me, and the eyes.

Tidelord wants no visitors.

trying to figure out which colors/genes work best here tbh
has to be a x/spruce/spruce though since spruce is beautifully murky
also needs to have water eyes, cannot be without those

good colors/genes for primary:
- antique poison
- buttercup harlequin
- taupe fade
- ivory harlequin
