Silence.

The shadows seemed to be moving. The Guardian stood tall, her massive shape as large as the night itself, something that scared away any unwanted beasts. She seemed almost still, eyes watchful for the telltale signs of an attack.

Her red eyes flicked back to the same spot, where the shadows had seemed to be moving. She didn't trust it. Moving away from the lair and the other dragons in her lair, the dark Guardian was ready for an attack. She reached the spot, and the scent of blood hit her.

The dog-like shape that was lying there, looked up, its purple eyes frightened. It whimpered, and shook. Multiple wounds spread across its body. The Guardian looked worried, it wasn't a threat, and something about this wolf called to her. Was it to be guarded by her as well?

She locked her red eyes with its purple ones, and nodded.
