The runt of his litter, Cerberus learned to rely on his wits and cunning to survive from a young age. As a juvenile he teamed up with a huntress named Hecate, and offered her new ideas for snaring and luring out prey. She gifted him a pair of ebony antlers as thanks, shed by her bonded Squall Rasa, which now adorn his helmet.

Upon reaching adulthood he accompanied Hecate on her journey south across the Cloudscape Crags, seeking adventure and greater challenges.

The party discovered Tyr and Astra along the way, lost travellers seeking to study the Frozen Sanctum. Cerberus and Hecate agreed to join them on their perilous journey across Reclaimer's Glacier. Before long, the four became the founding members of a new clan.
