Tales of Resonance’s poetic performances seem to proceed her in every clan graced with her presence. Crowds whisper of her graceful, beguiling movements upon the stage and her beautiful tales of love, loss, and adventure.

As a self-professed master storyteller, Resonance is flattered by the praise. But they say a bard is only as good as their last song, and, if you asked her, Resonance would say that her recent performances have been…uninspired.

Not that her audiences seemed to have noticed, of course – she’s a professional! How terrible it would be for her adoring fans to see the boredom behind her eyes as she performs! How could she live with herself if the crowd walked away from her shows without being entertained?

But that’s the problem! Everything entertains! Every story, every poem, every tale of wonder and woe she recites sparks exactly the same reaction from the crowd.

The nocturne poet does not just want to entertain, but inspire! Her audiences should not just enjoy her stories – they should feel them ring and pull and resonate through their hearts, their minds, their very souls!

That’s the difference between a good bard and the bards of legends: those that last the test of time are the ones whose stories made people feel the deepest, strongest emotions, even long after their performances come to a close. Simple amusement isn’t nearly enough. Resonance wants much more than that.

Perhaps she needs something new – something exciting – to add fresh life to her stagnant tales. Perhaps it is time for a change.
