Aevis

Aevis, the first of clan Avarice, and chosen of the progenitor.

Once a dragon lost for purpose and happiness, Aevis had nearly given up on life. A remnant of a great battle with the Talonok, Aevis found herself one of the last survivors on either side. Stricken by loneliness and fury, she wandered, drowning her sorrow in combat, until she came upon the edge of the contagion. There, she thought to cross over into the Starfall Isles, to find her death in one final battle. Looking down at the Starwood however, she found another dragon observing her, not in despair, but with entertainment.

He asked her why she was there, out so close to the border. She told him, but instead of solemnity or mockery, he commented that it was a waste, but one that only she could choose. She found herself fascinated by him. For a time, they spoke, and though he had no name, and no clan, she believed him when he told her of his ambition.

For a day, they shared a ridge of stone, and words aplenty. On the morning after, the nameless dragon began to walk away, along the border, and with him, the contagion spread, ever so slowly. Without knowing why, she followed, and she has done so ever since.

Often the adviser and leader in matters of combat, Aevis has adopted the dream of the progenitor as her own. The world will bow before the greed of the many, and all will fall that will not yield.

The time of clan Avarice has come. Consume all. Hail to the contagion.
