Kelton runs the Lost & Found junction of Sunbeam Ranch. He swears he returns all of the things he finds (usually items left by similarly-imbibed patrons in the Saloon at the end of the night) if the owners request it; if they go unclaimed, he sells them to other dragons for a bit of treasure.
This measly turnaround income is used to fuel his habits at the Saloon, where he simply sits alone at the bar and plays Solitaire.
Only his Viperpillar accompanies him, resting between his feet in the bit of sand that's always tracked in and impossible to get rid of. He claims it has never struck him, despite his distracted nature; perhaps it's because his blood is too toxic for its liking, or because he is as stationary as it is. Instead, it is likened to his own little alarm system, as he's much too oblivious to notice things on his own; it keeps him safe, and he doesn't bother it.

“Howdy. Are any of these items yers? Didya leave anythin’ behind last night after ya had a bit too much sarsaparilla? A ring or a book, maybe? A pocketwatch or a tool, perhaps? A necklace?

Nah? Good. That means ya can pay me for whatever items ya want, instead of just takin’ ‘em. It won’t cost ya much, but more than nothin’. Just be quick and pick, I beg ya; I want to finish this game of Solitaire here, and I got a real wicked urge to get another sarsaparilla for myself.”

APRIL FOOLS 2024 VISITORS: Safely ignore below for the sake of this game. It is from April Fools 2023 and now simply serves as extra flavor and lore for Kelton as a character.

Despite having been in the Saloon for a little while before approaching him, Kelton paid you no mind until he absolutely had to. It was as if he either truly didn't notice you, or just didn't care for your presence. He only bothered to look up at you over his glasses when the Viperpillar by his feet let out a little hiss, the sound a warning given the moment you got too close for its liking, though the Pearlcatcher's dark and heavy gaze quickly returned to the top of the booth table he was sitting at. He didn’t say anything in greeting, instead just letting you get on with what you were there for.

“Oh. You mean down at the vault. Well now,” he said, setting his cards down and swapping them for his bottle, taking a swig of whatever was in it. “That ain’t me either. Apologies, stranger” – another shake of his head – “I just keep to myself, see. I rarely leave this here Saloon; no need to, on accounta' all I need bein' right here. So, I don’t know a thing about that… In fact, I only heard that somethin' was even amiss earlier today…”

His tone drawled off, and just as you were about to accept that you would get nothing out of this man, he eyed you one more time; tipping his head down, he peered over the frames of his spectacles intensely. “But Bullock might have some news. Don’t tell ‘im I said it, but even for a Deputy, he can be reaaal nosey sometimes...”

And with that, his limited focus was back on his card game.
