Just a backup. An alternative. Who would want to live that life? A life of averted gazes, of silence. Resentment and frustration grew in the young vessel until they heard Her song. Her sweet, melodic, beautiful song. She whispered promises of recognition, respect, and affection… if only they switched sides. It was an easy choice for the vessel, shedding a past life of inky darkness and replacing it with a radiant warmth. Missionary was their name from then on, and they would do anything for Her.
