SUMMARY

Ash is a nonbinary Snapper dragon who wandered alone for many years before they found Hestia's hearth. Unlike most Snappers, Ash does not feel the constant drive to move on and has always longed for a home and a family.

PRE-CLAN HISTORY

---

During their travels, Ash found a severely injured Fae known as Dana who they watched over and nurtured back to health with the aid of a passing mage. Ash grew attached to the shy, intelligent little Fae and once they realised that they didn't want to be parted they became travel companions. Whenever Dana's wings got tired, Ash carried her curled up on top of their head.

They were afraid they would never find a clan that would believe that they would not abandon them soon after joining; but luckily one day they stumbled upon a diplomatic party returning home to Hestia's lair. They struck up a conversation and, though wary of how outnumbered they were if something were to go wrong, Ash and Dana agreed to travel with them for a time.

The two groups got on brilliantly and Ash felt relieved when nobody questioned their desire to find a clan to live with permanently. Ash never wanted the journey to end, though they knew the clan must return to their lair eventually and no invitation to join them had been issued. After several weeks of travel together, the group had planned a celebration for what was to be their last night together. To their surprise though, after much whispering between the group Hestia approached them and cleared her throat. "Ash, Dana... we would like you to stay with us, if you choose. We are offering you a place in our clan."

Ash and Daha accepted straight away and with much happiness. When they reached the lair Ash was thrilled to find so many other dragons to share their home with! Most surprising of all was the presence of another Snapper - Shae. The pair quickly grew close and Ash couldn't help but feel that they had found a dragon they wanted to spend the rest of their life with. Luckily Shae was not as shy as Ash and she plucked up the courage to ask Ash on a romantic stroll through the local mountains. There, Shae confessed her feelings for Ash and the two of them tentatively began discussing a future together.

They chose a lovely grassy gully just outside the main entrance to the lair. It was once formed by a river which long ago dried up, leaving a lush, soft space to curl up together. Tall trees whisper overhead and the stars peak through the leaves but they are comfortable even in the worst storms. They have decorated their nest with little treasures that they have both carried with them over the years and they love to spend time there with each other, reading, talking or just curled up together.

LIFE IN THE CLAN

Ash and Shae now run the Dragon Resource Centre in the lair, a place where any member can go to ask questions and learn about the other species they share their homes with, the local surroundings, and the vast amounts of lore and information that Ash and Shae picked up on their journies around the world. The DRC also provides outreach and mediation between the different parts of the clan when needed.

Dana is still a fixture in Ash's life, spending part of most days snoozing on their back or head. She also helps out at the centre, especially with Fae-related enquiries. The three of them enjoy philosophical discussion and games of Catch the Flying Fae Ball (Dana is the ball. She occasionally lets the others catch her. They are very gentle and give her a little groom afterwards as a thank you.)
