Flower Showers
Spring is in full swing and a cool breeze blows past you leaving a sweet floral smell trailing behind. You look around curiously at the plains and recall your previous visit here being very different. A year ago it was lush green fields of grass and not much else, not for a lack of soil quality but not much else had been introduced here, and it was very . . well . . plain looking. As you stand before it now the hillside is dotted by waves of colour and texture; the grass now home to a wonderous variety of wild flowers and mossy fern growths that sprouted out bright white and pale purple flowers. Sitting down to examine the new flowers you take note of the attention to detail and care of the land when you see that all the new plants are native to the area and non-invasive. Leaning back you take in a deep breath of the sweet air and admire the beauty and freshness of the new plains.

Elise has always had a love of plants and specifically flowers. She has many fond memories of running through and playing in fields upon fields of tulips as a child and often admired their beauty. The different colours they could have not only in groups but individual flowers had a cascade of colours on a single petal, and most afternoons after she was done running around she enjoyed drawing the flowers in intricate detail and even made diagrams of them as well. Her siblings weren't as invested in the beauty of nature as she was and so they would often bound off together leaving her behind to potter over her plants. Sometimes Elise studied the insects too and was curious to see how the interacted with each flower; which they liked, which they didn't like, and which insects were destructive or detrimental to a flower's health. She was saddened when she had to leave her childhood home but every hatchling has to move on when they eventually outgrow their parent's nests. It was time for her to make her own way in the world.

It was on her travels to find a new home that she realised that the plains of Sornieth were rather drab - everything a single sickly shade of green - and it was devoid of the lush plant life and joyous colours she had enjoyed in her childhood. She sought to have it featured in this new land and so she called it home and began work. First she foraged for wild flowers growing in a shaded patch of trees nearby and recovered the seeds from them. Making and firing her own clay pots she would plant the seeds and care for them until they sprouted out into beautiful replicas of the mother plants. The scale of her project was large and so it took a while to plant the flowers, grow them, and then harvest the seeds just to rinse and repeat until eventually her collection was so large that she just couldn't keep up with making the clay pots to house the flowers in. It was then that she decided step one was done and it was time for phase two: the planting. She would spend all day long in the sunshine of the hillsides meticulously planting the flowers and other various plants she had grown into a formation that was breath-taking. The stunning array of colours and shapes she crafted into the hillside didn't go unnoticed as soon dragons from other lands visited her small patch of land she called home to marvel at the flower garden she had made and new insects and animals moved in as well and the once drab and forgotten plains was full of life.
