For decades, body modification was looked down upon. Augments were considered primitive, and uncultured in mainstream media. Celebrities were unable to gain higher status if they had horns, or pointed ears, as those were considered 'remnants of the past'. It's thanks to several pushes from popular brands that have started a micro-revolution. Suddenly, people without wanted what they didn't have. They wished for sharper teeth, claws, and horns. They wanted surgery to be unnaturally tall, or have eyes that can see in the dark. Dr. Shigure made such things possible.

Shigure was willing to go above and beyond, even before the movement. There was little he refused to do. In fact, most of his refusals were because he didn't deem the recipient worthy enough of his talent. Whether it was for moral reasons or not, Shigure worked by his own code, and continues to practice today. The only reason he's allied himself with Schwartz Industries is that he's allowed to continue patient discretion on his own terms, while also being paid ten times his normal rate.
