Forrest

Born a small and twisted bodied fae in the scarred wasteland, Forrest, or Sickness as he was once known, spent most of his life tormented by nightmares of attacks by giant and strange dragons and things from beyond the stars. When he was young, a parasitic rotclaw attached itself to him, allowing him a little more strength and magical skill, at the cost of leeching away more and more nutrients from him. Never growing as big as his mirror siblings, and with nightmares keeping him sleep deprived and the rotclaw keeping him underweight, he struggled to survive in the wandering contagion and sometimes wandered far afield in search of easy food.

On one of these treks, he encountered the border of the tangled wood, and reasoned that food and shelter would be much easier to find under the shade of the pine trees, and has lived in the tangled woods ever since.

One day, after many years of living in the tangled wood, he felt the rotclaw tear off from the shoulder it had rested on since he was young and fall away, and he found that the sudden drop in the strength of his plague magics, as well as the literal weight off his chest, helped manage his nightmares so well that soon afterward he began to focus on and study growing things and nature magic, in hopes that studying the antithesis of plague magic will put enough distance between him and it to help his nightmares subside more. He renamed himself Forrest when he realized that devoting himself to being as far removed from plague as possible actually was helping, and has taken to acting as a "mock nature dragon" but still bares the scar on his shoulder where the rotclaw disattached.
