Nathaniel

Nathaniel was someone who always knew how to make someone’s day better. He joined the SDF six years before Manabu did, and was friends with his brother Mamoru. Unlike Manabu’s older brother, he didn’t make the Space Panzer Grenadiers. He was sent to the Vega Platoon of all places. Many thought he would get himself killed on his first mission, but he shocked everyone when he caught the highjacker they were tasked with capturing on his own. He earned the respect of his captain and fellow shipmates very quickly. He also dated Mamoru for a short time. He was deeply saddened when Mamoru died, and made sure that his body was sent back to his boyfriend’s grieving mother and brother. Despite this loss, he kept on fighting for the ideals of peace and justice he and Mamoru believed in. One day he was surprised to overhear that Mamoru’s younger brother Manabu was joining up, and made small preparations in order to welcome the younger man. Nathaniel was seriously injured during a mission while Manabu was en route to Destiny. Despite being gravely injured, he requested to see Manabu before he died. He told the younger man stories about his brother that Manabu had never heard before. Nathaniel eventually succumbed to his wounds, despite being given the best medical care possible. Despite only knowing Nathaniel for a few days, Manabu was glad to have met him, for it was like his brother was still there, watching over him from afar.
