From the beginning, Seawing knew she was different. Born in the Shadow flight, Seawing always felt an inexplicable pull towards the water. As a youth her exploration was limited, frowned upon and scolded after being caught by her parents, and for the longest time she shoved the desire to the wayside, chalking it up to childish dreams. That didn't mean she could fully escape it; she didn't love games like her denmates did, and she'd balk at playing tricks on other hatchlings. She had no desire to explore the dark, shrouded land in which she was born. But the itch for the seas never left her, and as she grew into teenagedom, new freedoms meant sneaking out to surround herself in the environment she longed for the most. She even pursued leaving the Tangled Wood and quietly making her way to the Sea of a Thousand Currents on more than a few occasions. Seawing's secret journeys didn't last forever, though. See, she was one of many siblings, many of which who did not see a shared bloodline as any justification for not going behind someone's back. And when one of them caught sight of her making her way through the woods on her way to the Sea, the first ones to hear about it would be her parents. They made it very clear no Tidelord worshipper would be welcome in their home, and refused to allow her back. The terror of being all alone was quickly overshadowed by joy that she might be able to finally be part of a flight where she felt she properly belonged. She couldn't change her purple eyes, but she took on the name Seawing and set out to the Sea. Now, after years of independence in the Water domain, she studies under Lightnose's guidance in the care of aquatic plants, regularly travelling between the Clan and her home in Churnscar Wharf. |
