» ZIRCON «
Hatchling Caretaker
She/Her | Straight | Adult
A very sweet, nurturing dragon. She is seen as a motherly figure among the clan. Although Zircon is a warm dragon, she can be stern and harsh when it comes to protecting her values and those she cares about.
Zircon is a polite, well-mannered dragon, with plenty of patience. She's got a big heart and tons of compassion and empathy, making her a trusted confidant for those seeking advice and support. Unlike Booger, though, who is too young and inexperienced to have much advice to offer, Zircon has the life experience she can use to help give advice to others. She's intelligent, and uses that and her patience to teach the hatchlings of the clan all manner of things, from language and history to teaching them to fly. Young dragons often accompany her to the Reedcliff Ascent to pratice their flight maneuvers. |

The care of young hatchlings is a communal task. Zircon is one of the dragons most involved with the hatchlings, and she makes her home very near the nesting grounds. She loves each hatchling as if it were her own, and spends many hours a day feeding, protecting, and teaching them. Wisteria is also a common sight around the nesting grounds, and together the two watch over the hatchlings as the young dragons grow into themselves. Zircon is a good bit older than Wisteria, and she considers Wisteria one of her children in the same way she considers the hatchlings to be her children. Zircon finds it difficult to see eye-to-eye with Priscilla, whose colder, crueler nature goes against her own kind-hearted attitude. The two have been in the clan together for many years, and in that time have had their share of disagreements. Her words to Priscilla have been scathing in the past, especially when the two butt heads over matters where Zircon feels Priscilla is being too cruel. But should they bump into each other in an everyday setting, Zircon does her best to keep things short and polite. Still, the animosity between the two is no secret. Vaindin is excellent at finding a middle ground between the two opposing viewpoints, and no meeting about official clan business ever takes place between Zircon and Priscilla without Vaindin present. Before they vanished, Zircon was quite close with the clan's founders, and their tragic disappearance was very difficult for her. Since then, she's become even more outspoken and fierce about protecting her loved ones and her clan - one has to wonder if perhaps the tragic loss of her friends only increased the fear she holds about her loved ones getting hurt. Despite this, she hasn't let the pain make her distrustful of strangers. In fact, she's still incredibly open to accepting new dragons into the clan and still fights to prevent the clan from taking measures she feels are too violent. In her heart, she still wants to see everyone safe, including enemy dragons from other clans or flights. |
