Abyss

The youth stared down the cavern below her. Even after throwing a rock down, there hasn't been a sound in several minutes. Most would give up at this point. No. She was dedicated. She stayed. She believed this pit isn't completely bottomless. It's heading somewhere. Alarmingly fast, really. Maybe the sound of the rock hitting something got drowned out by the sound of the river flowing? No, that shouldn't be. But it's best to be safe and maybe throw down another rock? What's the point of wasting energy on a bottomless pit? She shook her head. No. There's no way a pit is bottomless. There must be an end.

These thoughts raced through the youth's mind until it was interrupted by a sound. A sound of a rock hitting something. Perhaps it hit a wall? Will it even be safe? No matter the mystery surrounding this cavern, the youth declared she will get to the bottom of it. No stone of this world will be left unturned. All of its secrets to be revealed. All her discoveries lead to this cavern. This pit. But something inside her said that it was dangerous. Something inside her said that she might never return. But before she knew it, she already lept toward the sound. She had already made her decision. She has already fallen into the Abyss long before it finally consumed her.
