Biography
![](/rendern/portraits/780348/78034798p.png)
Second born of Eta and Droken's triplets, she was born with deformed wings and is unable to fly. Not as physically able as her siblings, she more than makes up for it with her genius and ingenuity. While Eta, being the indelicate, brusque warrior that she is, didn't quite know how to handle the necessity for restraint and tenderness at first, her fierce protectiveness soon took on a new edge... that of a mother who would move the heavens to keep her hatchlings safe. Her siblings were no different, taking every opportunity to dote on and spoil her. As Droken's one and only PearlCatcher offspring, he constantly makes it a point to lavish her with whatever she needs or wants, always bringing her back trinkets from their missions.
Unwilling to not 'pull her weight' around the ship she quickly set about first creating the device used to make her wings semi-useful (she can glide for extremely short distances and they no longer have to be strapped to her body to keep them out of the way), then soon after harassed FlameForger to teach her the finer points of armor and weapon making. Her ability to make intricate, jointed armor and lightweight projectile weapons with vicious sharpness impressed even his critical eye and soon enough she was set loose to create to her heart's content.
Seeing her potential and finesse, Forger took it upon himself to drop her at Spitfyre's claws and suddenly she was being expertly shuttled between himself, Eroth, and Hextasy to absorb all she could from them. Healing, navigating the stars, simple enchantments and wards... she learned it all with relish and applied it to her existing skills: armor that repelled weapons, arrows that never lost their point, water that rejuvenated, even map scrolls that were water and fire proof.
Though originally hesitant to allow what he saw as a liability onto his ship, Captain Caliph was nothing if not shrewd in his observations, and saw not only Heph's abilities and drive, but also how the rest of the crew seemed to knit even closer together; she connected members that previously had little to do with each other and more than ever the place ran like a well oiled machine. Dubbing her the ship's Engineer, he doubted anyone aside from himself could truly see how aptly the title fit.
