Malice & Midas
Keepers of the Reliquary
Observant | Witty | Studious

Bells that emit a soft glow, lanterns that can't be snuffed out, messages from a bygone era; none of these are strange to this pair. Collectively refered to as Chalice, these two are reknowned within the many circles of explorers that dare plunge into the unending caverns.

It's not uncommon for an adventurer, miner or even a fugitive to wander into the depths, only to come back with an unusual finding. Often times, these objects are strange, whimsical or even magical, with no reliable point of origin outside of the unending. All relics fetched from within the winding cavesystems have this in common, and Chalice is working to chronicle them all.

The two of them work with the many scholars and archeologists flocking to the camp, identifying and recording each object passing through- or at least, they try. Few dragons are bold enough to descend too deep, but those that do can find themselves a fortune in artifacts if they survive the ascent back. Of course, they could always come back with nothing, which they've had to break the news about many times. Too often, a dragon comes back with talons clutching a bag of loot, only to find it's not worth much at all.

To Midas' dismay, this seems to be Malice's favorite part of the job; letting down young adventurers as he loudly announces the lack of value.
