Tearing winds and colossal mountain ranges mark an unforgiving pathway through the Southern Icefield, the ancient glacier a cruel test of survival to even the most well prepared travelers trying to navigate through. Even beyond the grueling terrain, tales of horrors trapped within the ice and the lost spirits of those that fell to the cold keep a wanderer's senses in a constant state of paranoia. And as some glimpse desperately into the cascades of ice and snow for some form of direction, they may come to find to their dread the eerie silhouettes of a strange band of dragons, covered in the bones and skins of various creatures, their faces masked behind those of beasts.

They call themselves the Snowsquall Tribe, a nomadic band of wanderers that carry an appearance not fully dragon, taking on the shape and mannerisms of animalistic creatures that have given them leverage in surviving the treacherous lands their migratory routes follow. Their Guardian, Banagher, encapsulates the true epitome of the tribe's hardiness and endurance, a strong and obstinate protector that watches tirelessly beneath layers of tattered pelts and bones, giving him the fearsome appearance of no known creature. He is as relentless and unyielding as the element he carries, standing firmly at the forefront of his tribe and paving the trail forward through the brutal frozen terrain. Any creature that dares try to threaten those in his following is met with his beastly ragged claws, the first devastating blow out of many from a barrage of emboldened dragons that have contended far too long in survival to be daunted by confrontation.

There is quite the air of mystery surrounding Banagher, even the longest standing members of the tribe knowing very little about their frigid protector and where he came from. Not one dragon can recall a time they've heard the Guardian's voice, his only sparse responses never rising beyond a deep rumbling growl of acknowledgement that causes the very air to tremble. So long as nothing disturbs the safety and wellbeing of the dragons in his company, he turns a blind eye to whomever mingles into or departs from the tribe's presence, both dragon and beastclan. Only one thing seems to have a glimpse beyond the Guardian's stone cold exterior and garner his full attention in return, and that is his Charge - an equally mysterious and fragile Fae named Rin.

A most puzzling bond between Guardian and Charge, it is as if Banagher's conscience and soul exists outside of himself in the form of the Fae. The emotionless almost feral manner the Guardian responds to the world around him is not foreign to anybody in the tribe, his path seized by an unstoppable drive not even the elements can dissuade him from. Yet should a tribe member fall ill, or a lost injured traveler come into their care, the Guardian will suddenly halt their intensive trek and even turn their course around entirely just to get the one in need to a place of safety, an act so uncharacteristic of his usual obstinance.

But on deeper inspection, behind every act of the Guardian's unusual benevolence, Rin's glassy stare can be seen peering out from behind his horns, wordlessly waiting until everyone in their company is able to take up the journey once more. Perhaps such a thing shouldn't be so entirely mysterious, chalked up to a Guardian willing to hear out their Charge- if it weren't for the fact that Rin too was also entirely mute. Without so much as a single spoken word or gesture, the two seem to perfectly hear the other's wants and intentions and act accordingly, Banagher the unstoppable vessel providing his strength and endurance, with Rin as the pilot driving them forward. Joined together, they form a most watchful and protective leader over the Snowsquall Tribe, not letting a single one fall behind in their grueling journey.
