SUMMARY

Ceph is a young dragon raised by Hestia from a hatchling. He is a serious and thoughtful dragon who cares deeply about his clan and works hard to help out around the lair. He is extremely good with the hatchlings and playing with them is one of the only times he lets his silly side out. He is proud of his Obelisk heritage but feels very at home with his Guardian adoptive mother. He is a fierce protector of the clan and fights well when called upon.

GROWING UP DIFFERENT

---

Ceph never knew what happened to his birth parents. He was found, hours old, by Hestia. As a young hatchling when he asked why he was so different from her, Hestia would murmur lovingly to him that the Gladekeeper knew how much she needed a Charge, so the goddess asked the Earthshaker himself to form Ceph from the very earth of Sornieth for Hestia to find.

As he grew older they talked more frankly about how Hestia had found him amongst a ruined nest and taken him in when she was unable to find his parents. How he had the power of Water in his veins but he was also considered a Nature dragon because of his adoption. He learned that he was the beginning of Hestia's discovery of her Charge - all those lost and in need of a home, and he would always be under her protection.

Ceph learned what he could about Obelisk dragons and discovered that many struggled to find their place in the world or know exactly where they belonged. Being a newer species without the time to form the same culture and history as the others left them feeling strangers on the land. Learning about his species allowed Ceph to mourn the family he had lost so young, and to begin to accept his feelings of difference from his adoptive mother. At the same time, he loved Hestia and the new clan they were forming, and decided that what he wanted most was to stay and make his home there.

And soon the clan became a home for all dragons like him - the lost, stray and different. He no longer felt like an outsider as more and more dragons of all species trickled in to join them. Instead he felt at peace.

LIFE IN THE CLAN

Cepholon is an active member of the clan and a fierce fighter when necessary. He helps guard the land and aids with the hunting and has begun to form a friendship with wary Bogsneak Aurora, who he recognises as someone who still feels very much like an outsider.

Cepholon's main jobs, though, involve welcoming new members to the clan and taking part in diplomatic trips where necessary. He is keen to make sure that a dragon's experience of the clan is positive and help new dragons transition into clan life with as little anxiety as possible.

Cepholon also helps out at the hatchery, where the hatchlings often love climbing or perching on him and pulling on his mane with their teeth. He is gentle and affectionate with all the hatchlings and takes great care when helping look after them. He guards the hatchery with a dedication and seriousness that the other dragons admire greatly, and nobody is worried when they know that Cepholon is working in the hatchery that day.
