Disappointment

Despised by her parents for being the only egg in her nest, and cast out to die in a dominance war, her services only deemed worth a single coin by them.
"She is a Disappointment; if you want disposable forces, that's the only thing she's good for."

Yet, she was given mercy. Another chance, a new home. She was welcomed into a new clan not as cannonfodder, but as a new friend.

It took her a long time to accept that she really was being given a new home and that they weren't just going to abandon her.

She visited the clan's seers, Eva and Iris, to confirm that she really would be staying with the tribe. Again and again, she came back for the same fortune due to her insecurities. She eventually admitted to them she didn't really believe them.
"I could show you how it works, if you'd like," offered Eva.
"You can?" Disappointment asked.
"Yes, of course!"
"But what if I'm no good at it?"
"I wasn't any good when I started out, either. You just need to try at it for long enough, and you'll get better."

True to her word, Eva taught Disappointment to read the future with cards. Being able to see it for herself, Disappointment gained more confidence in her future, and that she was not destined for misery after all.
