Deity of Persistance

Subtitle
The velvet moss that coats their underside. The burn streaks down their patterned face and legs. The crispy red, orange, and yellow hued autumn leaves that still attach themselves to the branches that eloquently grow out of the backside of this dead, grey tree. The life in them may almost be gone, but alas, the roots still dig deep and the canopy still reaches for the sky.

Placed in a circle of black, charred grass; with various patches of dirt and charcoal still glowing from all those night ago. Smoke arises from the ground like it’s trapped under the earthy soil and seeping out into the sky.

If you look closely into it’s eyes you can still see the lightning bolt trapped away inside. The energy being absorbed and fuelling this beast. The tree that will not fall. The tree standing stronger than many others that dot the ground. An idol of persistence. A creature of pride.
