they are useless. I can make you see your
innermost desires, but it is my desires alone
that shall be conjured. My magic will shape
a world where I rule as an arcane goddess!
Quasara the Mistress of Illusions; a mage with the ability to create realistic mirages and intricate glamours. Born with the primal blessing of the Arcanist, the fae's magic is strong, though limited purely to the realms of optical hallucinations. As a youngling, Quasara's studies were so intensive that she didn't devote any of her time or power to other branches of sorcery, a decision that would eventually come back to haunt her.

Always a contemptuous and imperious dragon, Quasara was hatched into a wealthy den and had the best education that gems could buy. Her parents doted on their child progeny, spoiling her and giving her all that she asked for. As she grew older the fae became more arrogant, and eventually her visions of grandeur began to come true. Quasara considered herself to be arcane aristocracy - a magical queen among common dragons - and one day before her family's eyes she became clothed in the beautiful and expensive apparel of royalty, her wings decorated with gold leaf and enchanted paint.

With her impressive new appearance Quasara's self-admiration soared. She left home, choosing a luxurious crystal roost in the Hoverview Vale - the perfect place to look down upon everybody else. Using her gifts of illusion the conceited fae took whatever she wanted for her new lair, deceiving and deluding others into giving her rare potions, forbidden spell books and mystical trinkets. She lusted after power, and stopped at nothing to amass a collection of unique and potent magical objects.

But in time, the desire for treasures gave way to something darker. Quasara, now in possession of a vast trove of rare sorcerous items, began to brood on the idea that other dragons might try to take them from her. She became uncomfortably aware that her magic was singular, and that there were some high ranking mages in Sornieth who could possibly break through her toughest mirages. The fae convinced herself that the answer to this problem was to demand another blessing from the Arcanist.

Now in a palace of quartz Quasara practises her illusions, trying to create one so powerful that it would fool the arcane deity himself. The megalomaniacal fae imagines herself overthrowing the god and claiming his hallowed chambers in the Observatory for her own. She would become a goddess - beautiful and mighty - surrounded by those who would do her bidding. Fantasising about being worshipped and feared, she continues to work, using all of her magical skill to turn her dreams into a terrible reality..
