Aznix looked around the Wandering Contagion, with only his brother
to keep him company.
He was only minutes old, but his mother had already left the hatchling behind.
He didn't seem to mind the large, imposing Ridgeback standing beside him.
Or at least, he seemed not to.
"Cheap hatchlings!" the Ridgeback cried, drawing in a small crowd.
The newborn squirmed and tried to walk,
but he noticed his foot was tied to a rope.
He tried again,
then again.
Nothing.
He whined, pouting at the sign beside him;
the wooden post had "For Sale= Cheap Fodder" scratched on it,
but he did not understand.
Still, the two boys had bonded for a while by chasing each others' tails.
A massive Imperial shuffled forwards, clutching a heavy leather sack. "I'll take
the runt," he mumbled.
The large figure grabbed his squirming brother, smiled, and handed over a
handful of golden coins before the two quickly vanished into the heavy red clouds above.
"No! Don't take him! he screamed.
Aznix cried out in agony as he watched his brother leave him, who was mutually upset.
Not soon after, a large, battle-scarred obelisk with fancy black attire eyed him.
"How much for this little guy?" she grunted.
"Just 5000 treasure. Just leveling him to level 4 and exalting will give profits."
She scooped up Aznix, much to his dismay, and stuffed him in her backpack.
After a short nap, he woke up and noticed his surroundings were different.
It seemed quite cozy- the stone walls surrounding the caverns had crevices
carved in them, each with a small nest for the dragons to sleep in.
"Welcome home, kid," the mysterious obelisk smiled.
“I'm Starlight.”
