The dim-witted mate of Ubie. The reason he still resides in the Inner Mire is because he genuinely poses no threat. He is slow to understand most situations and often gets confused by simple concepts. He may be the only actually kind soul within the Flight only because he doesn't seem to be capable of being...mean. Plain and simple, he doesn't lie. Doesn't seem to understand the need to and was one of the reasons Ubie was punished so harshly.

The only dragon to come to her aid was Zena who wasn't quite sure what the fuss was about and couldn't vouch for Ubie's personality or character. He is quoted to have said, "Ubie is very smart and I'm sure she is capable of many things, if she put her mind to it. She has the kind mind of a leader." This, of course, only worsened matters.

Ubie can't find it in herself to hate Zena as she knows that he truly doesn't mean any harm. His optimistic outlook on life, no matter how illinformed it may be, is uplifting. Zena has named the eggs that she laid before being exiled after cheers of joy, "Sometimes just saying or shouting something cheerful can brighten your day!"

He had to raise the eggs by himself, as they were the offspring of a traitor and weren't sent to the wetnurse. He spent several months raising them until they were able to care for themselves, then visited Ubie with the intent of cheering her up with news of the hatchlings.

It was then that he realized saw the aftermath of her exile and punishment. Ubie could no longer make cheers and shouts of joy, even if she wanted to.

Zena is the only dragon in the Flight granted free passage from the Inner Mire to the outskirts. Both sides trust that Zena is not a threat and Zena has people that he truly loves in both sections. His children live within the Inner Mire and his mate lives with the Scrags. He often visits Ubie, telling her tales of what has occurred in the Mire and bringing her gifts of food and trinkets. These gifts are then distributed amongst the rest of the Scrags.

Zena is one of the labor dragons within the Inner Mire. He, along with his Flattail pet work to create tools, fabrics and furniture out of the sparse resources that they are given. Despite his slow demeanor, Zena is quite skilled in his field. It is incredibly odd that he was exiled to the Plaguelands in the first place as even here his expertise is highly valued.

There is a rumor amongst the entirety of the flight, including the Scrags, that Zena found himself in the plaguelands after becoming lost during a resource run with his previous Flight. This rumor is gaining validity after Zena admitted that he often loses track of where he is or where he has been. This admission was proven after a scouting mission with Fence ended ours later, with Fence constantly reminding Ubie the correct direction and eventually leading him back to the Mire.

This is Zena's fifth flight.
