should i phone it in??
so here's what happened: aberrations were released, we all sprinted to the scrying workshop, we all made some funky new dream dragons.
I am usually terrible at the scrying workshop. there are too many options and too many things and I never make the perfect one.
but.
this time.
I made the masterpiece. a beautiful, swampy, delightful masterpiece.
and - for the very first time in my eight years on this site - I said the fateful words of all breeding projects before me: I must have her.
so my first breeding project began. I have purchased 24 dragons. I have bred 4 generations and 52 hatchlings. I have made an 11-tabbed project spreadsheet that auto calculates dragon relatedness and color probabilites (it has so many formulas it actually takes a few seconds to buffer whenever I update it).
and a fateful thing has happened: I have so many pairs breeding, so many pairs waiting to breed, and I have had two near misses in one nest.
one with the perfect colors, but the wrong gender.
one with everything right, but one off on the primary color.
SO. here is my question: do I continue throwing time, space, and resources at this project, or do I phone it in with a near miss and move on with my life?
and before you answer that, I must share with you the scry and the almost-theres. my goal dragon (titled "swamp thing" until I can come up with the appropriate name for her glorious swampy-ness)
the SWAMP THING:
and here are the near-miss hatchlings!
the correct-colors boy:
...but unfortunately I just do not like the male pose as much for this scry
and the near-miss girl:
The soil primary(instead of hickory) definitely looks good, but... idk if I love it quite as much
SO HERE IS MY QUESTION:
am I only reluctant to just wrap things up with one of these two kids because I have been so focused on a specific goal?
or are they actually just a little bit worse than the original scry??
please weigh in. and please tell me how you survived your breeding projects.
I do not know how you live like this.
